Welcome to the 1st Veterans Football World Cup 2025 in England!

This superlative event unites veterans from different nations on the soccer field to play a unique tournament while fighting for a good cause: supporting homeless veterans.

What is the League of Heroes?

The League of Heroes is a worldwide initiative that brings together veterans, former soldiers and their families to not only recognize them, but also to offer concrete help. Through sport, especially soccer, the League of Heroes' mission is to support veterans and raise awareness of the plight of homeless ex-servicemen and women.

This unique event is both a celebration of the sport and an opportunity to recognize the hard work and sacrifice of veterans who have served in many countries. Through this tournament, funds are raised to help these veterans receive stable housing and much needed support.

Why a world championship?

The Veterans World Cup is much more than just a sporting event. It is a tribute to those who have served their countries while providing a platform to raise awareness for homeless veterans worldwide.

Countries such as England, Germany, Scotland, Wales, Jamaica, the USA, Northern Ireland and Nepal will compete against each other in thrilling matches in May 2025. The aim is not only to win in sporting terms, but also to raise funds to improve the lives of veterans, who often face considerable difficulties when they return to civilian life. The organizers, consisting of former soldiers and their families, have made it their mission to give this tournament a deeper meaning.

Support for homeless veterans

This tournament is special because it goes beyond soccer: it has the clear and urgent purpose of helping homeless veterans. The goal is to raise €500,000 through ticket sales and donations for charities that support veterans and help them get back on their feet. Any support will help provide permanent and stable housing for these heroes.

Friendly matches 2024 - preparing for the big event

To prepare for the tournament, several friendly matches will take place as early as 2024. These matches are intended to build anticipation for the big event and also serve to raise funds for the logistics of the World Cup. Everything raised during this phase will go directly towards the organization and staging of the tournament.

Become part of this unique moment!

Join us in celebrating the magic of soccer while helping to give homeless veterans the support and recognition they deserve. The League of Heroes Veterans World Cup 2025 is more than a soccer festival - it's a movement to help veterans start a new life. Every donation counts, and together we can make history and a real difference.

Thank you for your support!

Sponsorship of the Veterans World Championship 2025

We are pleased to announce that we are supporting the Veterans World Cup, where nations from around the world will come together in 2025 to compete against each other with the shared mission of providing homes for homeless veterans.

12 countries have already confirmed their participation, with more to be announced. The aim of this global event is to raise £500,000 for homeless veterans' charities through ticket sales and donations.

Homelessness is a growing problem amongst veterans in the UK and they are over-represented in the homeless population. Communicate is proud to sponsor the equipment for the England team to take steps to address this issue and underline our commitment to the Armed Forces community as part of our pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant.

We are proud to have our very own Vendor Manager Matt Hubbard as the goalkeeper for England, and with two wins from the first two games against Nepal and Romania, our team has already caused a stir in this year's friendlies! We wish each team every success in the coming months and hope that the cup is as much support as possible to raise funds for veterans in need of a home.

To keep up to date with our League of Heroes news, you can follow the Armed Forces Veterans World Cup Facebook page . There you'll find updates on the participating teams as well as links to buy tickets for this year's friendlies - including matches such as Wales v Nepal in June and England v USA in July - with more exciting announcements to come.

CHAPTER 149

WESTERWALD/GERMANY

Dear friends of the German Comrades,
Hello comrades,

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the following event:

1st Veterans Football World Cup
League of Heroes
04.05. - 10.05.2025
WOKING (England)

Our comrade Thomas (Tom) Hecken has been appointed as National Manager and Project Officer of the BDEV to manage and coordinate this event.
In a conversation with Tom, the idea was born to have the match ball for the opening game transported from Germany to England by veterans from Military Motorcycle Clubs.

Together we would like to realize this idea and would be happy to take more veterans, bikers and clubs on this certainly interesting journey.

We are convinced that this is the beginning of a great event and that it should be supported.

Would you be interested in joining us on this tour?

If so, please contact me by (T:) 30.10.24 at:

Matthias "Zicke" Wendland
Secretary GKMMC Chapter 149

According to current plans, the tour will take place between 02.05-12.05.25 will take place. However, this can still be adjusted for some participants/clubs. Further plans (arrival, route, crossing to England, intermediate stops, accommodation, etc.) will be made once feedback has been received.

With comradely greetings

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

The boys are back in full training for the next fundraising campaign, which will be the toughest yet.

From Newquay to Welly B over 250 miles in 9 days, starting on September 9th.

This time, thanks to Ray Matthews, a lot of media attention will happen before, during and after on a larger scale. Ray is also helping these guys with their training to prevent further injuries. The goal is to increase the vital logistics for the World Cup, which we will achieve.

The boys sacrifice 9 days away from their families and put their bodies in turmoil to gain support and push the mission further. This time they are accompanied by a few friends from the 200, 230 and 240 mile points.

On the way they will stop at:

  • Exeter City FC,
  • Basingstoke FC,
  • Chelsea FC,
  • QPR and possibly also Fulham.

This time they won't be alone and thanks to Dale Carter, they'll have a back-up Vichle just for more injuries, but I can assure you, injured or not, these guys will complete the mission.

Wish them luck and spread the word. All the best, boys!

Please click on the link below and donate to this World Cup. Next year we will raise the £500,000.00 for our homeless brothers and sisters.

TO THE VETERANS

We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks and appreciation to our Deputy Managing Director Graham Martin for his dedication and support.

Today, Graham (right) traveled seven hours from his home in Münster, Germany, to meet with the management team of the German veteran team .

Thank you for your efforts, brother. We wish you a safe journey home.
Graham has been instrumental in encouraging support for the World Cup in Germany.

Thank you very much

Sponsors

So far, recognition and appreciation for the military profession have only ever appeared in passing,
for example during the corona pandemic or after the end of the Afghanistan mission.

Germany therefore finally needs a framework,
to create a veteran culture that is firmly anchored in society.

The most important representatives of the German veterans' movement have agreed on the demands listed here.
Together, we want to ensure that politicians and the Bundeswehr finally take action.

On June 15, we celebrated the first National Veterans Day. A milestone for Germany's veterans' movement.
